2014
Morning walks are Blessed!

Wow it is the middle of March already…  Where did this year go??

We did spend a fair amount of time looking at Motorhomes again this year since we had the 5th wheel and truck here we traded at the end of January.

We hike at Madera Canyon and explored Pena Blanca lake, Arivaca lake on an all day trip – lots of bad road between those two!

Also we play Pickleball several times a week and I have played in a couple Pickleball tournaments. My partner and I won the fun tournament and played five matches before being eliminated at the Green Valley Senior Games.

Linda’s cousin Paula and her husband Don spent a couple days with us and we visited Tombstone and Bisbee one day. Both are interesting Old West towns with lots of colorful history. And we got to see the B&B in Bisbee that uses restored vintage campers like Airstream for the rentals.

March 14th - We did a family trip to Clarkdale, AZ to ride the Verde Valley RR. I had four sisters with their spouses, my youngest brother and our wives, a niece and a cousin from Minnesota and his better half. It was a fun day with a really fun group. It was also the maiden voyage for us in the motorhome so we came early and stayed extra days so we could refresh our memories from twelve years ago when we were in this area. Yesterday we were at Jerome – a unique town high on a Mountain with some of the curviest roads ever. We toured Tuzigoot National Monument on the way back.

March 16th - Today after church we went to Montezuma Castle and then to Montezuma Well – both are also National Monuments.

We could see the snow covered peaks from Jerome and Cottonwood. We asked and found out Humphreys Peak is the highest natural point in the U.S. state of Arizona, about 11 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona. Humphreys Peak is the highest of a group of extinct volcanic peaks known as the San Francisco Peak.

We will probably go to Sedona tomorrow and on to Mesa Tuesday to see friends and return to Green Valley on Friday.
