We had a Whale of a Good Time
October 6th -  Busy, busy. This is the first time in almost a week on the computer. We did whale watching several times, walked the beaches, moved to another campground, played a lot of Pickleball and got some sight seeing done. We lost most of a day when we moved – a hydraulic hose blew during setup and it took most of the day to get it fixed and part of another day to clean up the mess. We really enjoyed spending time with two other couples on the Pickleball court, eating and “wine”ing. And we spent an afternoon on the beach Saturday in Lincoln City watching a Kite Festival – AWESOME!! The finale had nine kites flying in unison to music. It was hard to believe what we were seeing.

Tonight we got back in time to take Lexi to the beach to watch the sun set over the ocean and when we were done playing Frisbee with Lexi we turned around an there was the moon coming up. How great is that!!

October 1st – We found more of the trails for walking around the 80 plus acres along the river in the campground. We stopped on the way to town at the “Barking Dog Farms” – on organic vegetable grower and like the layout of the huge gardens but we only came home with some freshly cut Kale for our lunch salad. Very good – not sure if I ever tried it before. After lunch we went to Depoe Bay, thinking we would find more beaches but found a whale watching area instead and there were some right there in the bay. Then we found another beach for Lexi and the stopped at the glass blowing studio that we watched earlier. We decided to make a Starfish to remember the area, boy those kilns are hot.

We saw a flier there for a Tiki bar with tacos and Blackberry Mojitos just around the corner and decided to try both of them. Nice but only snack size.
