Northwest Trip 2012

August 12,2012

After some unexpected fixes and repairs to the truck and camper we are closing in on the time to hit the road again. We blew a tire on the 5th wheel going to Wyatt’s wedding which probably was a blessing though it was hard to see it that way at the time. We had time to get it all fixed before we leave, much better than in the middle of nowhere and waiting for tires and repairs…

I highly recommend Goodyear after their great customer service!

We are still planning  on leaving Iowa most likely on Wednesday the 15th.

We left Green Valley in the middle of May and after a busy three months in Iowa we are about to head Northwest. We will spend a few months in Washington and Oregon to see as much of our last two of the 50 states as we can before heading back to Green Valley for the winter. I can’t say we have adjusted to the “new” way we are doing things but we didn’t have to worry about plants and lawns during the hot and dry Iowa summer. I really miss having the vehicles garaged and a place to putz around.

We missed our Canadian fishing trip this summer but managed to get some side trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin and spent some time at the cabin on the Mississippi near Guttenberg. We really enjoy spending time with our children and the grandchildren, they are all special. The grandkids head back to school soon and then we are on the road again.

We had eight of the siblings at a June gathering on the bike trails in southern Minnesota, and all 13 were in attendance at Scott’s youngest (Wyatt)’s wedding in New Hampton at the end of July.
