Thursday August 16^th - We left Iowa today, after a stormy night it was cloudy through mid morning and very cool compared to the summer we have had. We really could have used less wind! It was persistent all day either in our face or buffeting from the side but it never got more than 75 degrees. Fuel prices up and mileage down with all the wind but not a bad day with plenty of breaks. We stopped in Chamberlin, SD – even with all the water here the crops are very dry and many have already been removed from the fields.
